Project Overview
The site lies directly adjacent to the north-eastern edge of Axminster Market Town. The proposals are for a residential development of circa 140 dwellings, including Class E employment land and public open space, and for improvements to a natural turf pitch at Axminster Town Football Club.
Our Role
We began work on this site in 2020 with a request for pre-application advice to East Devon District Council. In 2022 we promoted the site for allocation in the East Devon Local Plan on behalf of the previous landowners. We prepared a hybrid planning application in 2023, comprising outline planning permission circa 140 dwellings, provision of employment land and public open space; and a detailed planning permission for improvements to the turf pitch.
We presented the application to the planning committee, delivering a speech to members who approved the proposals in 2024. The application is currently pending determination with the Council subject to securing the s106 Legal Agreement.
