Changing Rooms, Duckes Meadow Sport Field Exeter University

Client: The University of Exeter

Section: Leisure

Location: Exeter

Planning Authority: Exeter City Council

Description: Replacement changing facilities

Project Overview

Sport is an important part of life at the University of Exeter which is renowned for its sporting reputation and prides itself on catering for all abilities. The University aims to deliver inclusive and accessible opportunities that will inspire students to participate in sport and physical activity and enrich their university experience.

The proposal involves the demolition of the current changing facility, which is at the end of its life and no longer fit for purpose, and its replacement with an energy efficient new build two storey facility on the same footprint. The new building includes team changing rooms, referee changing rooms and individual facilities, as well as more locker spaces and welfare and social space. The proposal also includes the provision of 70 cycle spaces, 20 car parking spaces (including a setting down bay and a blue badge parking bay) and EV charging.

Our Role

On behalf of the University of Exeter we applied for a detailed planning application in 2024 and obtained approval for the new changing facilities in 2025.
