Keyway Recycling and Lilley Brook Golf Club
Waste Recycling and Recovery Operation to import up to 100,000m3 of inert waste material for golf course improvements.
Lilley Brook Golf Club, Cheltenham
After a previous application was withdrawn on a number of grounds, the applicants sought out Grass Roots Planning to undertake a fresh submission in which we provided advice on a number of points. This included re-configuring the access from a route passing a large number of residential dwellings, in which local residents raised concerns over, and instead providing this through the existing golf club car park. We also ensured that sufficient flood risk, highways, ecology and arboricultural work was undertaken in preparation for the application, and liaised with local residents to make them aware of the construction period, other management such as timing of works, waste recovery plan, and noise mitigation.
Our first application was refused by members in December 2016 on the grounds of archaeology and a lack of a S106; following a secondary application submitted in March 2017 which rectified these issues the application was put forward at committee with a recommendation for approval and granted in September 2017.
